Happy 50th anniversary to my parents!

Oh baby boy! What a fun baby shower cake! You wouldn’t know it by looking at the finished cake, but I had 3 setbacks at the very end of this cake. It was so frustrating after everything had gone smoothly and I was almost done. I was crying on the inside and had to cancel some plans. However, that is the risk I take with caking. Sometimes, things just don’t want to work. It makes it all worth it though when I get a text from my customer saying how wonderful the cake was, inside and out, and that their guests were wanting my number. As much as I love creating, that is what I love the most…providing a service that makes other people happy. Happy birthday, Darcey! It was so fun making this cake as I made a similar one when my daughter was younger! 🥰 The bottom tier is chocolate cake with buttercream filling and modeling chocolate skirt. The top tier is chocolate with chocolate filling covered in buttercream. All of the details are hand-cut and hand-painted.

Happy birthday to my all time favorite girl! She’ll be the big 13
on Monday. The cake is chocolate with dark chocolate mint mousse filling covered in Swiss meringue buttercream. The smileys are modeling chocolate. I personally can’t wait to get a slice of this one!

Did you know I make my own vanilla extract? If you’ve had any of my desserts recently, this is probably why they taste so good! Look at all of those vanilla seeds. ❤️. 1.5 year old vanilla! It is just been steeping and steeping 😋. Looks like it is time for a new batch. And yes, occasionally you’ll end up with some vanilla seeds in your baked goods which means it will be delicious!

This was a fun cake for a 15th birthday! I did an isomalt bowl for the top for the first time and chocolate balls for decoration. Everything is edible accept for the flowers.
