Releasing all that, emptying the cup of concepts and we are left with such ineffable wonder that I sometimes find it hard to believe we can even sit here and communicate about it. To me that’s a miracle in itself…

On that note, all music from my instagram posts will be available at some stage soon on bandcamp . It’s just about figuring out how I’m going to release around 3000 1 minute long tracks… I keep procrastinating with that job😑

Happy new year everyone! I’ve just swapped some modules around to embark on a rhythmic/percussive journey with the Noon. Following is a list and concept behind each module from top to bottom left to right.

1. double helix - such a versatile module it’s a synth in itself, and those oscillators are so chunky. The sample and hold is super useful and it can be used as three lfos if needed.

2. hermod+ for sequencing duties. I’ll probably make use of the euclidean sequencing mode for weird polyrhythmic fun.

3. f8r for manual live controlling of the hermod+ and other things. Faders are cool because one hand can control 8 cv outs at once..

4. little mikey for mic input. Essential for vocal layers, light and shadow language and weird chants!

5. monsoon, MI Clouds extended clone. For all manner of pitch effects, and granular goodness.

6. Takaab 2lpg , nice little 2hp low pass gate for extra dynamics and soft filtering, possibly for the noon.

7. Verb, my favourite little reverb, so simple and huge sounding.

8. Listen Four, excellent little output mixer with two stereo and two mono channels.

9. uZeus for powering it all. Hopefully it’ll cover it 🤞🏼

10. .fm Noon. My new baby is still yet to be fully explored, especially rhythmically which it was probably designed to do, so hopefully i can get something interesting happening here.

It’s bound to be noisy, strange and unpredictable but hopefully interesting, energising and inspiring for all you experimenters out there. DIY life journey for the win!

For me, more important than achievements and goals is just being true to yourself, hopefully deeper and lighter in every moment! I’m a feeler, a seer, an experimental liver, and honestly I’ve been a complete mess a lot of this life. Sometimes i think I’m working it all out. Sometimes I’m just winging it and seeing what happens. No right way!🪶🌚✨🌳

Today I'm deciding to share my older pre-Florigenix work that I recently uploaded to all major platforms. Under the moniker Magus Niche, I completed 9 full length albums for friends and family (also put a couple up on soundcloud). 5 of which I felt were polished enough to publish! Here's a sampling of some of them! I've made a spotify playlist with all 20 of these tracks as a sort of sampler, which is linked in bio.

You'll notice a much heavier percussion oriented sound, with a lot more darker themes and moods. But lots of organic folky instrumental electronica too, hiphop oriented beats, jazz textures, post-rock and prog flavours.. save your favourites to a playlist and explore the strange genre fluid worlds of my more experimental production days!
