If you’re due for a mammogram and have been recently vaccinated for COVID-19, ask your doctor how long you should wait to get your mammogram.
Vaccination can cause swelling in the lymph nodes in the underarm near the shot. This is more common after booster or additional doses than the initial vaccination.
This swelling is a normal sign that the body is building protection against COVID-19. However, it can cause a false reading on a mammogram.
