Another vacuum to waste due to extreme amounts of dirt getting into pool.

Cleaned up a pool that flooded out from the rain we recently had! Vacuumed to waste with a stand alone pump so that we didn’t ruin the filters.

The first video I posted was all Hayward equipment and automation. In these photos you’ll find where the drain plugs are for jandy and pentair equipment to be able to drain if the power goes out. Also to run your time clock system 24/7 you’ll need to remove the on and off switches which that photo is included as well. Please remember to run all equipment 24/7 through this freeze and if the power goes out it’s time to drain and turn off the breakers to pool equipment! Be safe out there in this freeze everyone!

This video is for pools that are set up with automation and how to protect your equipment during a freeze. I’ll do another video tomorrow for pools that don’t have automation.

Major things to check during a freeze

Check that your freeze protection does actually kick in rather than just blindly trusting the equipment:

You wanna check that all your valves are open so that water can run through all of them. Automation will alternate between spa mode and pool mode so you don’t have to worry about the 2 automated valves unless the power goes out.

Insulate your auto fill line at the spigot

Ensure that your pool is at proper level and that your skimmer aren’t clogged.

Pay close attention to what ERCOT is saying about the power grids and if there saying power outage is likely go ahead and drain the equipment.

This video is for educational purposes. Always contact a professional if your still worried about your equipment.
