There’s so much happening in the first year of life, setting your baby up for success with good motor plans and patterning can make all the difference!

This is why early intervention matters. Did you know, Texas is a direct access state. That means you DON’T need a doctor’s referral to see a PT. Can’t get your pediatrician to right a referral, don’t worry! We can see you and will follow up with your doctor for all of the necessary paperwork.

Let’s keep it simple. Static positions (sitting or standing) are inherently easier than dynamic positions (rolling or crawling.)Your baby isn’t lazy, you’re just asking them to do something that’s harder!

Breaking down the movements, we work in side-lying, on their bellies, propped on hands and knees and work on activating and strengthening different muscle groups that they need to use to complete a roll or crawl. THEN we work on the actual movements. If the strength isn’t there, you cannot expect them to complete the movement with proper mechanics.

Have questions about your baby’s preferred movement patterns? Want to learn more about encouraging strength and motor planning. Reach out for more info or to book a session!
