Boom and another one….as some of yall may know, I’m a licensed General Contractor that owns a Home Improvement Company and does flips on the side when I can. Last year I posted a house in National City that I flipped. This house presented a very unique challenge, the layout was illegal with the garage opening into a bedroom (this was legal when the house was built and there is quite a few models in that area that have garages that open into the bedroom). The budget was tight to begin with but I designed a layout for the house and did a layout for the adu that I felt flowed really well, so I went ahead and bought the house. Then, not only did the home owners leave all their stuff(causing unexpected work and dump to be needed, which wasn’t cheap at all), when I got the house, I realized the whole house was on about 4 circuits, and the plumbing was all cast iron (cast iron is trash and at the age where when you see it, it will fail soon). Being a general contractor and seeing so many customers buy houses that were “flips” just for me to have to explain to them as the contractor hired to do work, that the plumbing is bad or whatever else they covered up, I couldn’t just not fix these important things (more money-again not cheap add ons)……I did my thing with the layout and construction, the wife came through and put her designer touches on it with the colors tiles and finishes….And that’s two for two, off to a good start with people liking our design and work……Im looking for another home to buy as well, or if you want to sell your home and let me help you remodel it, let me know, we can help….

Also I share this story for anyone else that goes through the thing where they doubt themselves just believe in yourself and get it done.
