CASTING CALL
FAITH-BASED SHORT FILM

Title: True Treasure

Shoot Dates: August 2–4, 2025
(3-day commitment)

Location: Fresno/Clovis, CA

We are casting for True Treasure, a short film set in 1973 during the Vietnam War era. This is a faith-based romance and redemption story, and a prequel to the film Flatline. The project will be submitted to the 168 Film Festival (Speed Film Category).

Synopsis:
True Treasure follows a young soldier’s journey from chaos to healing, as love, faith, and sacrifice converge during one of history’s most turbulent times.

Seeking Roles (All ethnicities encouraged to apply):

Lead Male: 20s–30s, military-aged, physically capable, emotionally grounded

Lead Female: 20s–30s, intelligent, graceful, resilient, strong presence

Supporting Roles: Soldiers, nurses, family members, civilians, officers, club patrons

Background / Extras: Vietnam-era civilians, military base personnel, bar patrons

Details:

Union and non-union welcome (168 is not a SAG-AFTRA signatory)

Modest day rate or honorarium (details provided upon selection)

Meals, credit, and festival exposure included

Filming in Fresno/Clovis and nearby areas

Must be comfortable working on a faith-aligned, family-safe set

Description: Graceful and resilient. A healer who becomes Paul's emotional anchor.

Skills: Authentic emotion, physical grace, comfort with subtle intimacy, cultural awareness.

Description: Competitive, charming, and slightly arrogant. Marries Paul’s fiancée during the war.

Thomas’s film credits include Lee’s “Do the Right Thing,” “Malcolm X” and “Da 5 Bloods.” Other notable credits from his career include the Best Picture-winning “A Beautiful Mind,” as well as “Cinderella Man” and “Hidden Figures,” to name a few."
