South African native Kurt Kannemeyer has received the prestigious Nelson Mandela Achiever Award for 2018 from the renowned Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. This iconic institution bears the name of the Nobel Peace Prize Winner Former President Nelson Mandela.

Several distinguished guests attended the awards dinner including the Vice Chancelor Ms. Muthwa and prominent rising star South African Idols contestant Amanda Anthony aka Amanda Black who made it to the top 7 during Season 11. She was also one of the recipients of the Rising Star Awards.

Kannemeyer was one of 3 recipients of the Achiever Awards. Two additional recipients based at Amazon in the USA and FACE IT Limited in the UK were also honored alongside Kannemeyer.

The University also recognized 3 rising stars and presented 2 special awards/recognitions.

Giving a voice to the voiceless As a small boy growing up in Port Elizabeth’s northern areas, Kurt Kannemeyer watched the TV series LA Law and Murder She Wrote – and knew one day he would become a voice for those who needed one. It was a dream that led him to study law – becoming the first in his family to go to university ....
