Today se celebrated the Governors Fire Prevention Day at the MN State Far by placing SECOND out of 16 teams at the Fire Explorer Competition! After months of hard work, we are so happy to see it all pay off. Our team may be small, but we are MIGHTY! 🔥

🎡🔥 It’s State Fair time, and our Fire Explorers are ready to take on the challenge! Today they’ll be competing against other Explorer posts from all across Minnesota in skills, teamwork, and fireground knowledge. 🚒💪

We’re so proud of the hard work and dedication they’ve put in to prepare for this day. Good luck to our crew and to all the teams competing—remember, the most important part is to have fun and make memories at the Great Minnesota Get-Together! 🎉👏

On Sunday we had our end of the year banquet for our Fire Explorers! Next up, State Fair prep!

Last night, we had our yearly Fire Extinguisher Training! Explorers learned to use the PASS (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) method while utilizing SBM's newest Fire Extinguisher Prop.

4 of our explorers also received their helmets last night! Congrats Riley, Tim, Ethan, and Elliot!!

Coming up... We have our SBM Fire Explorers open house! Join us September 15th to learn more about our Explorer Post and how YOU can get involved. Open to individuals who are the ages of 14-20 years old. 🔥

Well, our 2023-2024 season is officially over and, in the books, as it wrapped up this past Friday at the Minnesota State Fair Governors Fire Prevention Day.

Our group of Explorers competed against other Explorer posts from around the state in an all-day firefighter skills competition. We want to thank our Explorers for their hard work training all summer for this big event, as well as the dedication from our Advisors to help train and mentor them along the way. Thank you for representing Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Mounds View Fire Dept. and our community, and know we are pound of your efforts. Parents, we thank you as well for your assistance getting them to and from trainings, community events, and meetings all year long.

We are excited to announce that we had three of our Explorers make it to the big stage as finalists for the individual PPE Gear Donning event at the days end. Explorer Adam took home third place, congratulations Adam!

As if Friday's State Fair day wasn't enough, crews Sunday were invited to join the Explorer post from the City of Oak Grove to participate in a vehicle prop fire simulator. We want to thank the Oak Grove Fire Explorers for the invitation as these trainings do not happen very often.

While our season just ended, our new 2024-2025 season begins next month already! If you know anyone who may be interested in joining out post, please mark your calendars for our Open House informational session held at our Fire Station 3 in Blaine on Sunday September 15th, 2024.

Fire Explorers were at C**n Rapids Fire Department yesterday learning about Fire Flow Path! Awesome drill for a beautiful Saturday!

Our Fire Explorers had fun last night at Trunk or Treat at the Chain of Lakes Church! We love getting involved with our community!
