Merci and Bella were abandoned in a wooded area when a kind-hearted woman found them and brought them to a veterinarian for help. She cared for them, helping them gain the weight and strength they needed before they came into the care of Sunshine State Labrador Rescue.

Volunteer Roberta stepped in to evaluate the puppies and coordinate their journey to their foster homes, where they are now thriving.

Looking for a fun-loving sidekick? Rio is your guy!
At just 2 (ish) years old, this handsome yellow boy is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle bug. He's house-trained, can be trusted loose in the house (no crate needed!), and is always ready for a car ride, a long walk, a game of fetch, or a wrestling match with his favorite toy whale.
Rio has completed professional training through the Magic City K9 vocational prison dog training program, so he's got great manners to go along with his big personality.
Rio would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can burn off some of that young Lab energy. He's happiest with people, but he'd do best in a home without cats and with dogs that can handle his enthusiastic play style.

Robin has found her perfect match! 💜
Our sweet girl has been adopted by Lori and Scott and is already settling in beautifully. She also has a new name—Robbie—to mark the beginning of this exciting new chapter.
A heartfelt thank you to foster parents Bob and Joy for giving Robbie the care and guidance she needed while waiting for her family. And, as always, thank you to the incredible SSLR Rescue Team for making another happy ending possible.

Debbie Pup has officially become Coco as she headed home with her wonderful new family: David, Celeste, and Isabella!

From the moment they met her, it was clear that Coco had found exactly where she belonged. We couldn't be happier for this sweet girl as she begins her next chapter, surrounded by love and ready to make a lifetime of memories. The best part? Coco's forever home is close by, so she'll still get to visit her foster family from time to time. Those are the kinds of happy endings we love!

Meet Peter & Mary ❤️🐾
Ten-year-old Peter and Mary have already experienced more than any dog should.
Through our rescue network, we learned of two senior Labradors in a heartbreaking situation. After their owner passed away, the family searched for options but, sadly, none were found. The pair ended up living outside of their residence, finding what little shelter they could beneath the porch. A kind neighbor stopped by once a day with food and water, but they spent seven long months without the comfort, love, and companionship they so desperately needed & wanted.
The moment we heard about them, our volunteers got to work.
Thanks to our incredible foster families who open their hearts and homes, Peter and Mary were rescued from beneath that porch, received much-needed veterinary care, and are now enjoying the comfort of soft beds, regular meals, air conditioning, and - most importantly - love.
Their first veterinary exam brought encouraging news. Both are currently heartworm negative. They do have ear infections, a urinary tract infections, and patchy skin from months of neglect, but considering everything, they are in remarkably good health.
A huge thank you goes to our amazing transport volunteers, Stephany & Patrice who worked together to get the dogs from Miami to Port St Lucie, Mike and Kim who helped with the vet visit. It takes a village, and this rescue was made possible by every person who said "yes" to helping.

Sweet Bonnie’s long journey from shelter to forever has come to a wonderful ending! ❤️

Bonnie has been adopted by Jason,who was ready to welcome her home. She’s settling in beautifully, soaking up plenty of love, attention, and well-deserved relaxation. It’s clear this happy girl knows she’s exactly where she belongs.

A huge thank you to foster mom Nancy for guiding Bonnie through her heartworm treatment with such care and dedication, and to the entire SSLR Rescue Team for helping Bonnie every step of the way.

After a short stay at Miami-Dade Animal Services, we were happy to spring 9-year-old Maya! 💖

She’s now settling into foster care, getting some well-deserved rest, and enjoying all the comforts of home. We can’t wait for everyone to meet this sweet girl.
