It's National Black Dog Day! Let's show the black dogs of Sunshine State Labrador Rescue some LOVE 🖤

🐾 Together again, and home at last! 💙

Brothers Bailey and Charlie came to SSLR after their beloved guardian suddenly passed away. Our volunteer team quickly sprang into action to make sure these boys stayed together and found a new home where they could continue life side by side — just as they always had.

Enter Brenda and her son Chase! Brenda is a lifelong Lab lover, and after saying goodbye to her beloved Lab, Tank, at the age of 14, she knew it was time to fill her home with Labs again. ❤️

When Brenda and Chase met Bailey and Charlie, it was a perfect match. The boys are now settling into their new home, and those photos on the right? That’s Bailey and Charlie relaxing on their very first day home. 🥰

A huge THANK YOU to Bailey’s foster mom, Chris, and Charlie’s foster parents, Karl and Karen, for loving and caring for these boys while they waited for their next chapter.

And of course, this happy ending wouldn’t have happened without our amazing network of SSLR transport volunteers who helped get Bailey and Charlie where they needed to go.

And thank you to everyone who knew how hard we were working behind the scenes to reunite these brothers. There were a lot of moving pieces, but our team never stopped working to make it happen. 💙

It truly takes a village — and this village got two brothers home together. 🐾☀️

Happy tails, Bailey & Charlie! We can’t wait to watch you enjoy your new life with Brenda and Chase! Want to be part of the magic, apply to foster or volunteer on our website SSLR.org

Thanks to our volunteer crew for a great event at Pet Supermarket in South Pasadena. Adoptable Sunne made his rescue debut, enjoying meeting and greeting. He will be posted on the SSLR website soon. He was rescued from the shelter in the nick of time. Handsome Ambassador Sam did a wonderful job greeting visitors. We appreciate the hospitality of store manager Lori and her team. Our next event at the store will be Saturday, October 24th.

Welcome Tody.... we have photos of Toby when he was given away years ago by his owner. He ended up at shelter in South Florida. We shuffled, and we pleaded ....... Toby has finally made his way to SSLR. We will keep you posted on his medical journey and availability. Thank you to all our transport volunteers and especially John & Bob who made room in their home.

A big thanks to the village of vounteers who rescued sweet Gracie! A rural shelter was euthanizing because of having run out of space for the dogs and Abigail from the shelter reached out to Candy who contacted SSLR Regional Manager Pat to get Gracie rescued. Susan coordinated transport with Sandy who provided boarding, initial ground transport and overnighting. Captain Susan then flew Gracie to Inverness, meeting SSLR transporters Larry and Gabrielle. After a wonderful flight, Gracie was transported to Pat and Lewis in New Port Richey by Larry and Gabrielle. Then Gracie rode on the final leg of her transport to new foster mom Heather in New Port Richey. Gracie is sleeping soundly tonignt after a day of adventure and love. She will soon be posted on the SSLR website on the adoptable dogs page.

💙 Milo is now Queso! 💙

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped Milo along the way, especially foster Kris & Adoption Coordinator Pam. It truly takes a village ! 🐾💙

Happy tails, Queso! 🌞🐾 SSLR.org
