Big Oaks RV Resort

Big Oaks family, we are truly blessed to have one another. As family, we want to share in each other’s prayer needs, lift one another up, and trust that God hears and answers every prayer. Sometimes His answer may not come on our timetable—but God is always on time, even when He may seem four days late to us.

It is such a comfort to have wonderful friends we can trust with our prayer needs.

Please keep the following friends and families in your prayers:

Mary Noel took a terrible fall while visiting her son’s home. She fell on the steps and fractured three vertebrae. Please pray for her healing, comfort, strength, and a smooth recovery.

Margaret Bradley will be having surgery on Tuesday to remove melanoma from her arm. Please pray that her surgery goes well and that she receives good news.

Please pray for Sharon Clow as she has an upcoming mammogram on her left breast. Pray for peace of mind and reassuring results.

Continued prayers are needed for Dennise Thompson as he continues recovering from back surgery. Pray for healing, renewed strength, and relief from pain.

Please also pray for Sandy Kinzer as she and Craig travel to Michigan and Ohio. Pray for safe travels and that Sandy will have relief from pain and be able to enjoy the trip with reduced discomfort.

We are getting calls from many of our Seasonal Resort Family asking, "Is TS Bertha a threat to FL"?

This is the latest update received as of this morning. Yes—but the main threat is to the Florida Panhandle and parts of the Big Bend/Nature Coast, not most of the peninsula.

As of the latest National Hurricane Center advisory, Bertha had 50-mph winds and was about 100 miles south-southwest of Panama City, moving slowly northwest. Tropical-storm watches cover part of the Panhandle, while the strongest wind and surge warnings are farther west toward Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

For Spring Hill and Big Oaks, a direct strike or hurricane-force winds are not expected at this time, and Pasco/Hernando County is outside the current tropical-storm watch area. You could still see:

Tropical downpours and gusty thunderstorms
Localized street or low-lying flooding
Rough Gulf waters and dangerous rip currents
Some coastal water rise near marshes, rivers and very low-lying shoreline areas

The NHC indicates 1–3 feet of possible coastal surge from Indian Pass southward to Chassahowitzka, with 2–4 inches of rain and isolated totals near 6 inches possible across portions of western Florida.

So, this does not currently look like an evacuation or major wind-damage situation for Big Oaks, but it is worth keeping an eye on heavy rain and any localized warnings today. The forecast track remains slow, so changes are still possible.

🇺🇸 Another Beautiful Improvement at Big Oaks! 🇺🇸

Remember driving out of the resort, looking up between our two entrance signs, and seeing…well…nothing but the backside? Not exactly the grand farewell we wanted our guests to remember! 😂

Thanks to our new sign update project, the view leaving Big Oaks is now just as beautiful and welcoming as the view coming in. Guests will see a heartfelt “Thank You for Visiting” message, along with another beautiful electronic American flag proudly waving above them. 🇺🇸

Because here at Big Oaks, we don’t simply want to welcome you when you arrive—we want you to know how much we appreciated having you here as you leave.

A very special thank-you to Creig Kinzer for this wonderful added touch! It is the perfect finishing detail and another reminder that at Big Oaks, you "Come as Guest and leave as Family"!

Sometimes you just have to pause and look back to see how far you've come. Here's a little then-and-now of our Resort Entrance sign . From the old look we've all known for years, to a fresh new face that feels bright, welcoming, and so us. It's more than just paint and panels. It's a symbol of growth, care, and the pride we take in our community. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Thank You to our amazing team whose input was incredible from design to finish! Job well done Team!

Those "flushable" wipes are causing real problems in our sewer system.' 'To prevent expensive repairs and possible shutdowns, please toss all wipes in the trash instead.

A small zip bag works great for discretion and convenience.' 'Thanks so much for helping keep Big Oaks running smoothly.'

As you drive through the Resort, you may notice one of our beautiful illuminated American flags proudly displayed where Key West and St. Kitts meet.
A heartfelt thank you to Frank Conroy for creating and sharing this wonderful display with our Big Oaks family. Your talent, creativity, and patriotism have added something truly special to our community.
We'd also like to mention how beautiful the illuminated flags look at Kinzer's and Bradley's homes. Together, these displays add a special touch throughout the Resort and are enjoyed by so many.
We are also looking for the perfect new location for the illuminated flag currently displayed on our Resort Exit wall. We'd love to move it to a spot where it can really shine and be appreciated by everyone entering and leaving Big Oaks.
These flags are a wonderful reminder of the freedoms we enjoy, the sacrifices made by so many, and the pride we share in calling this great country home.
