Tyvek vs. Polypropylene vs. Microporous Laminates. Which one is right for your cleanroom?

🔵 Tyvek: balanced particle control, moderate breathability, good for everyday use
🟢 Polypropylene/SMMS: more breathable, better for short or lower-risk tasks
🟠 Microporous Laminates: stronger fluid resistance, ideal when splash exposure is a concern

The right choice depends on your ISO classification and what your team actually does inside the space.

Small mistake. Big contamination risk.

One weak link in gowning protocol can compromise the entire cleanroom. If you haven’t reviewed your apparel requirements lately, now’s a good time.

Most teams try to keep their monitoring data looking “clean” before an audit. That’s not really the point.

Auditors want to see what you do when something goes off:

✔️ Do you catch it?
✔️ Do you look into it?
✔️ Do you fix it and document it?

A flagged result with a clear response is easier to stand behind than perfect-looking data with no process behind it.

Your plan should lay out what happens when limits are crossed before it ever happens.

Choosing a cleanroom suit based on price alone can create problems that are much more expensive later.

Material compatibility, ISO classification, wear time, and gowning system integration all affect how cleanroom apparel performs in practice.

If you're evaluating cleanroom apparel for a controlled environment, this breakdown is worth reviewing before your next order.

Tyvek is one of the most trusted options in controlled environments, but knowing when it's the right choice (or isn't) can make a real difference in your contamination control program.

Here's something most facilities don't connect until it shows up in the data:
Glove quality and change frequency impact surface and personnel monitoring results.

If trends are creeping up and you can't trace it back to airflow or filtration, look at your gloves. Are they being changed consistently? Do they meet your ISO requirements?

Small gaps in gowning show up in your data before almost anything else.

Has your facility ever traced a monitoring trend back to a gowning issue? We'd love to hear about it 👇

Another spotless review for Cleanroom Connection! ✨
We’re proud to serve industries where clean means everything. Here’s what one of our clients had to say:

Even the best PPE fails without proper training.

Staff should know:
• Why they’re double gloving
• When to change gloves
• How layering reduces risk
