Some may wonder why at my age I still put all my energy into making short films that few will see in the scheme of things and most of which cost me more money than they will make. I turned 66 last week, and I am looking down the barrel of 70. I still have a lot to say and many story ideas that have yet to be brought to life. A lot of my early films were works for hire, and didn’t have much to say personally. Now I only make stuff that excites me and deals with ideas I hold dear. Also my eyesight gets weaker and weaker, so I do not know that I will even be able to watch films in the next ten years or so. I have to pursue my passions while I can and give these stories in my head to the future while I can. Those I can’t afford to make will be novels or short stories.
