World Environment Day 🌍

Even in the midst of war, Ukrainians continue working to protect nature, restore communities, and build a better future.

Today, we recognize the volunteers, organizations, and communities across Ukraine who are helping restore and preserve the country’s natural beauty despite the challenges of war 💙💛

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression 🕯

Every number represents a child whose life has been forever changed by war.

Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine:

▪️ 707 children have been killed
▪️ 2,548 children have been injured
▪️ 2,318 children are considered missing

The youngest child killed was just two days old.

Behind every statistic is a name, a family, and a future that should never have been taken away.

On this day, we honor their memory and stand with the children and families whose lives have been affected by war.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in safety, surrounded by family, education, and hope. Yet millions of Ukrainian children continue to experience the realities of war.

On this Children’s Day, we stand with the children of Ukraine and remain committed to helping build a future where every child can learn, play, dream, and thrive in peace.

Hosted by the Ukrainian Cultural Center Toloka, this special event brings together local Ukrainian organizations, businesses, and community members for an afternoon of food, culture, and connection.

Taste unique borsch recipes, vote for your favorite, and enjoy live cooking demonstrations.

Volunteer Drivers Needed for Ukraine 🇺🇦

Our Swedish partner organization, Blågula Bilen, is looking for volunteer drivers – preferably based in Lviv or Sweden – to help deliver emergency evacuation vehicles to Ukraine and help save lives.

For the past 4 years, Blågula Bilen has supplied hundreds of vehicles for Ukrainian defenders and frontline needs. They purchase vehicles, repair them, organize logistics, and bring them to Ukraine.

Right now, they urgently need more volunteer drivers.

Drivers are needed every 1–2 weeks, and there is no long-term commitment — you can help whenever you are available.

The fund covers:
• petrol
• ferry
• hotel during the trip
• bus/train back to Poland
• plane ticket

(Volunteers cover their own food and drinks.)

Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom has always come at a cost.

Today, we honor the American heroes who gave their lives defending their country and democracy.
As Ukraine continues fighting for its freedom, this day feels especially meaningful.

Because behind every flag, every victory, and every peaceful morning – there are people who sacrificed everything for it.
