A neighbor from a block away, whom I had never met until today, knocked on my door with pots for the garden and this painting. He said that he and his fiancé walk by a lot and wanted to give me the painting. Yesterday and today, people are coming to the farmstand. It was such a kind gesture that I sent him home with plants on the house.

Today I'm making a simple herbal oil using 1 cup of mullein flowers, 1 garlic clove, and 2 sprigs of rosemary. I covered the herbs completely with olive oil and will gently shake the jar once daily for 2–6 weeks. After infusion, I'll strain the oil through cheesecloth and transfer it to a dark glass bottle for storage.
Mullein has a long history of traditional use for respiratory wellness and is one of the easiest medicinal plants to grow. Learning to work with the plants in your environment can be a rewarding way to connect with nature and support your wellness journey.
