Meet our newest guests. This is Ronnie and Summer Lee. They are from Noble Oklahoma. Their life has changed greatly in the last 2 weeks they just found out he had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and leukemia. He's been in the hospital at MD Anderson for a week and just got out today. Pray that every cell in his body comes in alignment with the word of God. We pray that the treatment he is taking is doing just like Pac-Man and every cancer it touches is being eat up.I pray the treatment will do exactly what it's supposed to do and nothing more. I pray that his strength will stay up. Lord we thank you that you are the lifter of their heads you are their Jehovah Rapha that heals and Jehovah Jireh through this journey.

If you are a giver read this:

In 2002 when Pookie was first diagnosed with cancer our church loved on us like no other. Everyone was moved by his diagnosis. The Sunday before he was to begin his treatment we walked into the foyer and the head hostess said Jenny when you leave there is a bag left here for you . The giver asked to remain anonymous. It was a really big bag. She explained that in the bag were 8 gifts, one for each day of the week. I was instructed to open one gift every morning and realize people were not only praying for Pookie but for me also. I just couldn't believe someone had done that for me.

Well here we are 24 years later and I still haven't got over how much trouble someone went through for me. I have kept those gifts and most of the tags because someday I wanted to share this with others so they could do this too. The giver of my gifts was very creative, not everyone is. Some people want to do something but don't know what to do so they say......call me if you need anything. Don't do that. They have enough on their mind and the last thing they want to do is ask someone for something. When someone said that to me here is what I heard; if you can't find anyone else to help you then call me.

I challenge you to go out of your way for someone today. You never know what it will mean to someone.

We are cleaning things out and getting rid of a lot of stuff. In my office I found a note I had written to myself while going through one of my bouts with cancer. I remember where I was when I wrote it. It was a prayer and a cry from my heart, written on a napkin.

I had a guest here last week whose story hit really close to home for me. She was about 15 years younger than I am. She had lost a kidney to cancer. It now had gone to her bladder and metastasized through the walls of her bladder all over her body. She is in such pain that they have her on a morphine pump to help with the pain. While here they took her to the hospital by ambulance because of heart pain. It seems she has had so much chemo it has now damaged her heart. Please pray for her and her husband. He is so attentive but under such stress.

The New Caney Garden Club came out today and blessed us with beautifying the plants in front of the cottages. They did such a great job. Pookie has his hands full doing the yard and he has no desire to do gardening. I don't do outside work because of asthma and allergies so I really appreciate this. Here are a few pictures.
