Meet Your Counselor: Rebecca Boles!

Meet Rebecca Boles, counselor for Early College High School! She’s here to support, encourage, and guide our students throughout their high school and college journey.
A few fun facts about Mrs. Boles:

🍣 Favorite Food: She loves a variety of foods, but sushi is at the top of her list!
☕ Coffee Order: Coffee with cream, hazelnut and vanilla.
🐾 Dream Career: If she weren’t a counselor, she’d choose between being a veterinarian or a physical therapist.
🐴🐶🐱 Animal Lover: She has quite the crew at home — Tino the horse, four dogs (Livie, Otis, Bailey and Brownie), and a barn cat named Princess!
❤️ Favorite Thing About SHS: As an SHS graduate, she loves that Splendora still has the same small-town school pride she remembers from when she was a student.

Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize the incredible Academic and Instructional Coaches who work behind the scenes and alongside our educators to strengthen learning for every student.

Our coaches are more than just a resource—they are collaborators, encouragers, problem-solvers, and champions for both teachers and students. From supporting instructional strategies and analyzing data to sharing ideas, providing guidance, and celebrating successes, their impact reaches across our campus every day.

Thank you, Mrs. Laura Hansen and Mrs. Nicole Mikel, for all that you do! Your dedication, expertise, and commitment to helping others grow make a difference in our classrooms and throughout our school community. We appreciate you today and every day!

SHS sophomore Maria Gineza Ndokfele Joao stopped by the Multilingual Department table at the Meet the Teacher Night. Maria speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish—and when her mom stopped by, we made sure she knew we were bragging about her trilingual Wildcat!
