**WHEN YOU’RE DONE WITH YOUR PUMPKINS… WE WANT ’EM!** 😂

Before you toss that pumpkin in the trash, remember the hungry crew at **Scaley Addictions Reptile Rescue!**

As long as your pumpkin is:
🎃 **NOT painted**
✨ **NOT bedazzled or covered in glitter**
🕯️ **NOT covered in wax or chemicals**
🤢 **NOT rotten or moldy**

…our tortoises would LOVE to help you dispose of it the old-fashioned way — **BY EATING IT!** 🐢💥🎃

So decorate those porches, take those cute fall pictures, carve your jack-o’-lanterns, and when pumpkin season is over, **DON’T CHUCK ’EM — CHUCK ’EM TO THE TORTOISES!**

Trust us… they won’t care if your jack-o’-lantern is missing a few teeth. 😂

🐍☀️ **FROM “SLouchy Sock” TO SUNSHINE!** ☀️🐍

This girl has been through A LOT… and she wants you to know it. 😂

At one point, she weighed **almost 100 POUNDS** with her former owner. She was then put on an extremely restrictive diet and forced to lose that weight WAY too quickly and in an unhealthy way. When she came to us, she was still a BIG girl—but looked more like a **slouchy sock with scales** than a snake. 😳😂

And her personality? 🌶️🌶️🌶️
**SPICY. MAD. AND READY TO DISCUSS HER FEELINGS WITH HER TEETH.** 😂

Years of striking the glass had even left her with a crooked little smile.

Then came a pretty awesome coincidence…

Last weekend at our **911 Kids Expo**, an unexpected officer came to help us. During the day, I discovered that he not only has snakes of his own, but had also worked in **Animal Control** before.

Naturally, we had to talk snakes. 🐍❤️

I told him about this girl—her history, her size, her *ahem*… **spiciness**. 🌶️

And he looked at me and said:

**“I have to have her.”**

Well… challenge accepted! 😂

A cage was ordered.
A new home was set up.
And today, this girl got her fresh start.

And LOOK AT THAT SMILE! 😍🐍

I call this the:

# # # **“Come closer… let me show you my STRIKING smile.”** 😂🐍

But this time, that smile is happening in a home where she's understood, appreciated, and loved for exactly who she is.

And apparently, her new name is **SUNSHINE.** ☀️

Because nothing says *Sunshine* quite like a giant boa with a crooked smile and a history of trying to redecorate her glass enclosure with her face. 😂😂😂

💛 **Thank you, David, for seeing past the attitude, understanding her, and giving Sunshine the home she deserves.**

❤️🐉 **SIX WEEKS. THAT’S ALL IT TOOK.** 🐉❤️

Six weeks ago, someone found a bearded dragon wandering in their yard.

He called me, and we talked through the options. This little guy was **lethargic, incredibly skinny, and clearly had been neglected for far too long.** He was in rough shape.

But then something amazing happened.

A family stepped up.

They knew this wasn’t going to be easy. They knew there was no guarantee he would survive. But they were **determined to give him a chance.**

I donated a cage and some basic supplies, and this family took it from there. They added their own decorations, made his enclosure into a real home, learned what he needed, and most importantly…

**They gave him LOVE.** ❤️

At one point, even a pet store told them he probably wouldn’t make it.

I told them, **“Don’t listen to her. Keep going.”**

And look at **Bowser NOW.** 🥹🐉

Six weeks later, this is the same discarded, skinny, lethargic dragon who didn't look like he had much of a future.

Look at his eyes.
Look at his body.
Look at his attitude.
**LOOK AT BOWSER!** ❤️

This is exactly why proper reptile care matters.

Bearded dragons aren't disposable pets. They aren't something you get tired of and put outside. They require proper heat, UVB, nutrition, hydration, enclosure setup, veterinary care, and commitment.

And when they receive those things?

**They can absolutely amaze you.**

To Bowser's family — **THANK YOU.** Thank you for seeing an animal that someone else discarded and deciding that he was worth fighting for. Thank you for putting in the work. Thank you for learning. Thank you for loving him when he was at his weakest.

You didn't just save Bowser.

**You gave him a reason to fight.** ❤️

And Bowser?

Well, buddy… **keep proving everybody wrong.** 🐉💪❤️

This is why we rescue.
