Our favorite days are the days we have no plans and nowhere we have to be. It is amazing what removing unnecessary obligations does for your stress levels. Here’s your permission slip to skip the extra activities and just enjoy a slow-paced summer.

Anyone else planning on a slow summer too?

Everyone starts somewhere. Aiden has started writing some great poetry which led to a new dream - to be a singer/songwriter. He asked for a guitar and lessons start later this week ❤️

I am starting to take photography clients here in Cache Valley/Logan and Northern Utah!! I’m keeping my calendar limited but I’m so excited to get out and photograph some of these beautiful locations! If you’re interested in a session, please reach out!

I read a quote that said something like “when you live for yourself, it’s a very small life.” Life becomes so much bigger when you’re living it for them. Stepping back to make this chapter in life my true focus has given me far more meaning than I ever anticipated.

We’ve been a little quiet over here.
It’s been busy - moving in, getting settled and finding our rhythm.

We haven’t had a lot of time for exploring just yet, but each time we get out we are just blown away by the quiet beauty of this place.

But if you asked why Utah… this is part of the answer.

More room to roam. So much public land right in our backyard. More time outside. And more days like these.

Northern Utah is starting to feel like home. I can’t wait to share more!

Have you explored Cache Vally/Logan? It’s such a treasure.

It’s the one thing we all have in common.

Regardless of your political perspective, protecting our planet should be a non-negotiable. We are called to be stewards of the earth - it isn’t ours to exploit, but rather to protect. Let’s keep working to ensure our future generations can stand in awe, explore and find solace in its beauty just like we have.

Most people don’t think twice about tossing an apple core or orange peel on the trail. We see them all the time when we hike.

But “natural” doesn’t mean harmless.

It changes animal behavior, litters the trail longer than you expect (months for orange peels!), and sets the tone for everyone who comes after you.

Pack it in, pack it out—every time. Be sure to share with a friend who may not know!

A little less judgement and a little more compassion go a long way. Since posting about our lifestyle, I’ve seen countless arguments for and against different parenting choices and it’s honestly disheartening. I want to be clear - I feel quite strongly that what we are doing is right - for us.

We homeschool. Yes, it’s a choice we could make because I have a supportive husband with a stable income, because we have no debt and never created a lifestyle that depended on my income, and because our kids wanted to make the change and genuinely love being homeschooled.

We choose outdoor adventure over organized sports because we love it, because we are able-bodied and it’s what our kids enjoy most. We choose a quieter lifestyle because it’s what brings us peace.

Our choices are a reflection of our values and our circumstances. I’m here to cheer you along of you feel inspired to live similarly, but I’m also here to say it might not be for you. You do you boo. 💛
