We spent yesterday out on the boat doing a little fishing, and while it was definitely HOT, it was absolutely beautiful on the water! The sunshine was bright, the breeze felt great, and there’s just something special about spending a day surrounded by the beauty of our Louisiana waterways.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing all the beautiful sailboats out on the lake. ⛵️ They were absolutely amazing! We spotted them on the other side of the sandbar, their sails catching the wind against the bright blue sky. It made for a picture-perfect Louisiana day on the water.

Days like these remind me why I love living where we do. Whether you’re fishing, boating, grilling with family, or just relaxing at home, I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend!

After a day on the water, there’s nothing better than turning your catch into a delicious 👩🏻‍🍳meal. We love stuffing fresh flounder, frying speckled trout to golden perfection, and grilling redfish on the half shell. Fresh, local, and caught by your own hands just tastes different!

Living in Slidell means having access to some incredible fishing right in our backyard. From the marshes and bayous to Lake Pontchartrain, we’re blessed with an abundance of delicious fish species and endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

This weekend, my lovely fiancé and I will be fishing a tournament, and I couldn’t be more excited. The forecast looks beautiful, the fish should be biting, and there’s no place I’d rather be than out on the water enjoying everything Louisiana has to offer.

Whether it’s fishing, boating, cruising, or just soaking up the sunshine, weekends on the water are good for the soul. There’s something special about watching the sunrise over the water, feeling that first tug on the line, and making memories with the people you love.

🏖️🏐🌊One of my favorite ways to enjoy the Slidell waterfront has always been playing beach volleyball at Pointe Marina(the dock). I spent 7 years playing with a team called the Rusty Hooks, and we were fortunate enough to win 🏆 quite a few matches and some championships along the way!

Friday nights are always a great time out there—good competition, good people, and a beautiful waterfront setting. If you’re interested in playing, check out Spikes Volleyball page for other league days, times, and information about putting a team together.
