Keep Slidell Beautiful

Second Saturday Glass and metal recycling (aluminum and tin) is fast approaching!! We want to reiterate this information copied from Glass Half Full’s website.

We VERY MUCH appreciate YOU taking the time to remove corks and caps/lids before arriving. It also speeds our process if you’ve separated your aluminum (can also be cleaned aluminum disposable pans!) from other metals (those cleaned jar lids and screw caps).

Also a reminder that all aluminum and metal is given to STARC for them to collect the payment from the recycler here in Slidell, so you’re supporting TWO organizations with your recycling efforts! ❤️

See you on Saturday, October 10 from 9 til noon at Slidell Public Operations yard on Bayou Lane, just off W Hall. You can also sign up to volunteer on our website: https://www.keepslidellbeautiful.org/events/glass-recycling-volunteer-2026-10-10-08-00

The results are in!

In just two hours, we collected one ton of litter and recyclables.
Huge thanks to our sponsor, Keesler Federal Credit Union, for providing volunteers with stylish new safety vests.

We would also like to give a shout-out to Randy Fandal - Mayor of Slidell, and Dania for joining us and doing their part for out in Bayou Bonfuca!

Thank you to all the groups, clubs, and individuals who sacrificed their Saturday morning to help our community!
YOU are what makes Slidell beautiful!
