Love is not a feeling — it is an action. And when love is absent, something else takes its place. This week, Pastor Doug opened 1 John 2:7-14 and challenged us with a question worth sitting with: are we actively loving our brothers and sisters, or are we simply going through the motions?
Gossip. Envy. Unforgiveness. These are not small things. Scripture places them alongside the gravest sins — and they quietly tear apart the very fellowships we are called to build up. The good news? The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in us, and through it, we can overcome.
They will know we are Christians by our love. Not by our buildings, our programs, or our words alone — but by the way we treat one another. This week, let that be your witness.

Nobody wants to hear a sermon on sin. But what if a message on sin was actually the most freeing thing you could experience? That is exactly what the apostle John delivers in 1 John 1:5-2:2.
God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. That light exposes our brokenness, yes, but not to shame us. It exposes us so we can be forgiven, cleansed, and restored to intimacy with him.
Here is the truth: your sin has a solution. Jesus stepped into the sludge so you never have to stay there. As Romans 3 reminds us, God freely makes us right in his sight through Christ. When we confess, he is faithful and just to forgive. Every single time.
