Uncontrollable variables are part of competition. Long holds, bad calls, delays, commands, judging inconsistencies, equipment, noise, distractions, none of it matters once the bar is in your hands.
You must adapt and overcome or those variables will destroy your mindset and ruin your meet.
The best strict curlers are not the ones with perfect conditions. They’re the ones who can stay composed, apply force skillfully, and execute under pressure when everything around them is unpredictable.

I love this picture because I feel like it captures who I am. I’m 40 years old. Husband, father of two, business owner, son, brother, coach, and friend. I’m up before the sun every day trying to keep all my glasses full.
I work hard at everything I do. Family, business, training, helping others, whatever’s in front of me. I take pride in showing up and doing my best.
Yeah, maybe I look a little rough or intense sometimes but that’s life. Early mornings, long days, responsibility, pressure.
I expect effort because effort is what I give.
I’m just a man trying to do right by the people who count on him.
