Join us Monday, October 5th at 6:30pm in our sanctuary for an open and honest presentation on digital safety, online exploitation, and how to prevent it, led by the United States Secret Service. This is a must for middle school and high school youth and parents of children and youth of all ages. Trust us, you don't want to miss it!

Please note: The presentation is not suitable for younger children. Childcare will be provided.

Over 140 people joined in today’s Fall Kickoff Cookout with our partners at Christ Congregational Church! Partnership in ministry on our corner in Silver Spring has never looked so good!

We can't wait to see you at our All-Church Cookout this Sunday, Sept 20!

In addition to your contributions to our potluck-style meal (savory snacks from last names A-M; sweet snacks from last names N-Z), we urgently need capable hands and willing hearts to assist in setup, takedown, and grilling for the event.
Setup begins at 9 am and involves moving tables and chairs from the Fellowship Hall and setting up tables, chairs, and decorations.
Grilling has 2 shifts, 11-12:30 and 12:30-2, and involves cooking burgers and hot dogs, avoiding cross-contamination of beef, poultry, and vegan options.
Takedown begins at 1:30 pm and involves disposing of trash and returning tables and chairs to the Fellowship Hall.

We're so excited to partner with our friends at Christ Christ Congregational Church for a community-wide cookout this Sunday--rain or shine--on our shared campus! Join us for this potluck style cookout where folxs with last names beginning with A-M bring a savory side and N-Z share a sweet treat.

We're also looking for some intrepid servant leaders to help set up and clean up. You can let us learn more and make yourself available for this ministry of hospitality below!

Wilmar is a dedicated and loving husband and father to two stepchildren 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒, working to give them a safe life in the US. Although he was fighting an asylum case, he was aggressively kidnapped by ICE in October 2025. After nearly ten (10!) months of detention😢, he and his wife successfully filed an habeus corpus, and he was granted temporary release to fight his case from home.

Wilmar was finally able to hug his children and wife, but their future is still uncertain. Wilmar needs legal representation to fight for his asylum or else he faces immediate removal, which means his life will be in danger the moment he lands in Venezuela. The family is humbly requesting at least $2000.00 (of the $5,000 they need in total) financial donations to secure a lawyer by Tuesday, September 15 for his upcoming trial a week later. Time is of the essence! ⏳
