Always learning. 📚 Spent the day at the Family Child Care Association of Montgomery County conference soaking it all up — and got to snap a photo with my amazing ASPIRE coach. This work matters and so does the village behind it. 🐞

We officially started our Human Body study this week at LadyBug — and I am here for every single second of it.
The curiosity in this room right now is unreal. We’re exploring X-rays, creating self-portraits, experimenting with blubber, and yes — playing Operation like the tiny surgeons we are.

This one holds a special place in my heart.
She started with me as a baby. I watched her grow, learned her personality, celebrated her milestones. Her family trusted me with her earliest years and that's not something I take lightly.
She's in high school now.
And we're still in touch.
That's the thing no credential can measure and no checklist can capture. When the relationship outlasts the program, when a family stays connected years down the road — that's the work I'm most proud of.
This is why I do what I do. 🐞

A year ago we saved an avocado seed and it became a fun science projects .🥑
We sprouted it in water. Watched the root system grow. Potted it when it was ready. And one very proud 5 year old has been its caretaker ever since.
Patience. Observation. Responsibility. Genuine wonder.
This is the kind of learning I love most the kind that starts with curiosity and keeps going all year long.
LadyBug families, your children are naturalists. I just give them the space to prove it. 🐞

True confession — I was so present in the moment during Muffins with Moms that I didn’t take one picture 😄 One of our wonderful moms came through and shared this, and it honestly captures the morning better than anything I could have staged.
A planted seed, heart stickers, and a handwritten poem — all made by little ones who love their mamas so much.
Happy Mother’s Day to every mom in our LadyBug family. You are so appreciated. 💜

Today at LadyBug, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo by exploring the culture, history, and traditions of Mexico — and then we made guacamole! 🥑
The little ladybugs learned where avocados come from, talked about colors and flavors, and worked together to mash, mix, and taste. It’s amazing what happens when you bring real experiences into the classroom. Literacy, math, science, social studies — all of it woven into one avocado.
This is what a child-centered program looks like in action. Happy Cinco de Mayo !🎉🇲🇽
