This month’s tour on August 23rd will have a special focus on the years NPS spent as an army medical center and annex to Walter Reed General Hospital. Joining in leading this tour will be SOS board member Don Hall, who recently spoke on the subject at the nearby National Museum of Health and Medicine.

On Sunday, August 3 at 2PM, SOS Board Member Donald Hall will be presenting on the conversion of the school to the Forest Glen Annex at the National Museum of Health and Medicine. Also streamed live on their page.

Spring is here and a great time to enjoy this special tour of the Glen! You can better appreciate the terrain and special built features in the Glen before the full leafing out. Come and join us as we visit this enchanted area from a different access and viewpoint than other special Glen tours.

The tour will take place on April 27th and begin at 1:30pm. The tour will last 2 to 2.5 hours, is limited in size and to those 12 years old and older. Reservations are required with payment for this tour by April 24 on the SOS website at https://saveourseminary.org/special-glen-tour/.

The tour fee is $20 per person and includes a special commemorative map, access to a private SOS website page with almost 40 pages of historical photos of the Glen, as well as videos and other resources, and light refreshments.

Terrain of the Glen is rugged and uneven with stairs, streams and other obstacles. It is not handicap accessible. Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes as there may be mud and/or water.

The Swiss Chalet was once the sorority house for NPS’ Zeta Eta Theta and was a design chosen by the students themselves.

Our first tour of the year is this weekend! Come see beautiful, unique buildings like the Chalet and hear the history behind them.

Join us for a tour of the Glen at National Park Seminary on November 10th. Come learn more about the paths, historic structures, and unique features still on our campus and see photos of others that are long gone. A few paved historic paths have recently been uncovered!

The tour begins at 1:30pm and will last around two hours. The tour is limited to those 12 years old and older, and the terrain is uneven with some obstacles, so please wear sturdy, close-toed shoes.

at National Park Seminary

Everyone is fascinated by the unique architecture of the historic buildings at National Park Seminary and can only imagine what lies inside those walls. However, these are private residences, so their many unique and diverse styles, features, and decor are off-limits.

Save Our Seminary is therefore pleased to provide an exclusive visit into the interiors of 8 of these private residences on our 2024 House Tour on Sunday, September 8, 1-4 pm.

The tour will include a sorority house, the music hall, the gymnasium, the chapel and 4 other locations that have been converted to private residences. We will also have a surprise additional historic feature to view.
