Calling all incoming Highland View ES kindergarten families! Please join us for one - or more - kindergarten playdates this summer. This is a great chance to meet other families who have a child starting in the fall! You can also join the PTA and learn more about the school … or just have a popsicle and hang out!

July 14: HVES kindergarten playground
July 27: Upper Long Branch park (aka Fire Engine Park)
August 17: HVES kindergarten playground

All play dates will start at 4pm.

If you haven’t registered your child - or have neighbors / friends / family with a child who will be 5 by September 1st - please make sure they are registered for kindergarten!

We hope to see many faces, new and returning, at the first PTA meeting tonight at 6:30 pm in the Media Center at Highland View. KAH has agreed to stay open during the meeting to provide childcare as needed! I'm attaching the agenda here. The main goal for tonight is to briefly review and vote on the budget for this school year.

Friendly reminder that everyone is welcome to come to the meeting to discuss and share ideas, but that actual voting is technically limited to PTA members that have paid their dues for this school year. If you haven't paid your dues yet but are planning to, you can do so here:

Join us tomorrow (10/4) for Walk & Roll to School Day! Chalk drawing, music, and fun will begin in the bus circle at 8:45 until the first bell rings at 9:05! If you have any chalk to share please bring it along 🙂

Eagle’s Nest EXTRA Eagle’s Nest EXTRA Quick notes from the Highland View Elementary PTA

Dear 2022-23 Kindergarten Parents,

The Highland View Elementary School PTA invites parents and children from the Fall 2022 kindergarten class to the first HVES PTA Kindergarten Playdate at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday (6/25) at Seven Oaks Neighborhood Park located at 200 E Hamilton Ave. in Silver Spring. (Other playdates will be held during the summer if you can’t attend this weekend.)

This will be a great opportunity to meet other parents and new classmates, as well as learn more about Highland View and the PTA. We may even have a few tips to share as you prepare your little ones for their next educational adventure.

We look forward to meeting your member of the Class of 2035! Hope to see you there.

Come one come all to the Highland View PTA Carnival Saturday, May 21, from 11 AM-2 PM at our school. Admission is $9 for an event that will be loads of fun for all.
