Laps for Lexi

We wanted to extend a big thank you to all of you who came out for the final Laps for Lexi 5k! Without all of you L4L would not be complete. You all have been loyal supporters each and every year. We love seeing all the purple and big smiles on race day. You all have helped us raise over $1.3 million over the years (still counting from this year)! Together we have fought against children's cancer and Laps for Lexi plans on staying committed to our mission as we continue on into the future. We hope you carry the legacy of Laps for Lexi on in your lives and never forget that there are still kids out there who have been diagnosed with cancer. We cannot leave them behind. We need stronger better research and continued awareness to the cause. The fight is not over! 💜🎗️

Due to unforeseen circumstances Davis Gestiehr will not be able to attend Laps for Lexi events this year. He will be greatly missed, as Davis and his family have been an integral piece to Laps for Lexi every year. His sister, Madison will be reading a letter from Davis at the event on Saturday. We have just one day left until the final Laps for Lexi! Remember to wear purple, grab a mask, and bring comfortable shoes. We cannot wait to see you all in your L4L gear! The race the begins at 8:00am at Sandy Spring Friends School. See you there! 💜🎗️

This July, Richard "Poppop" Purkiss passed away from cancer. He was Lexi's grandfather and was deeply loved by his family. Richard was one of Laps for Lexi's biggest supporters and donors year after year. He was most known for popping L4L balloons at 4am on the morning of race day or cooking burgers and hot dogs on the grill with a friendly smile. This year we are honoring him by naming the grill, "Purk's Grill." He will be greatly missed this year, as he truly loved Laps for Lexi and his granddaughter. We miss you Purk!💜

Two days to go until Laps for Lexi! For our event this Saturday masks are strongly preferred. We are so excited to come together again this year and run/walk for pediatric cancer one more time. Don't forget we will have Laps for Lexi merch, goodie bags, baked goods, and more. Let's reach our fundraising goal! 💜🎗️

We wanted to thank the Barnello family who has been a constant supporter and sponsor of Laps for Lexi. Lexi and Sophie Barnello were best friends growing up and went to school and camp together. Sophie and her family have attended multiple Laps for Lexi's over the years and their presence and enthusiasm has always been greatly valued. Laps for Lexi would not be complete without the Barnello family. 💜🎗️

This year instead of balloons we are choosing to giveaway purple wildflower seed mixes. We thought after this year's final 5k spreading purple through our communities is a perfect way to continue to honor Lexi and Laps for Lexi's fight against pediatric cancer. We hope you will take these seeds with the intent of spreading the purple where you see fit! 💜🎗️
