May Day began with workers in Chicago risking their lives to demand the eight-hour work day and basic dignity in the workplace. 👨‍🏭🏭

Today we honor the working families, activists, and unions who continue the fight for fair wages, safe and accessible workplaces, and collective bargaining rights.

Thousands of our neighbors are observing two major holidays today:

Montgomery County is home to thousands of Muslims, as well as thousands of Iranians, Afghans, Kurds, Tajiks, and others who observe one or both holidays. Without the contribution of these diverse and engaged communities, Montgomery County would not be the same.

For our Muslim residents who celebrate Eid al-Fitr, may you and your families have a joyful and blessed Eid filled with love, laughter, charity, and delicious food! Wishing you happiness that lasts all year on this special day.

Nowruz, also known as the Persian New Year, is a holiday that aligns with the spring equinox and is celebrated across several countries in the Middle East and Central Asia as the first day of the new year. I hope that joy, good health, and prosperity continue to bloom in the homes of all who celebrate this ancient holiday.

Hello Montgomery County!

I am running for Montgomery County Council At-Large to continue to work together to make our county a safe, affordable, and healthy place to live for all residents.

We are lucky to live in a vibrant community like Montgomery County, but we still have work to do to make sure the County works for everyone. I’m ready and eager to continue the work!

I am running to continue to deliver on:
🏘 Critical work on building more affordable housing and providing housing supports
🏢 Expanding successes we’ve witnessed in economic development, such as the thriving life sciences industry in our community
💰 Reforming our tax structure to reduce the burden on residents
🧮 Strengthening early childhood education
🏠 Increasing funding to end and prevent homelessness
🩺 Continuing to support community clinics to help fill gaps in our neighbors’ coverage brought on by the Trump administration
💞 Protecting and uplifting our immigrant neighbors who will always be welcome in Montgomery County
