Cherri Branson
Cherri Branson is a former County Council (District 5) appointee seeking an At Large seat in the 201 I have lived in Montgomery County for the past 29 years.
Thank you for visiting this page to learn about my candidacy. I met my husband here and together we raised our son here. You may be familiar with my name because I was appointed to serve as an interim Council Member in 2014. As a part of my appointment, I took a pledge not to run for office in 2014, retired from my job on Capitol Hill and devoted all of my time to serving the people of Dist
The primary was held on June 26th. Unfortunately, I didn't win but I want to thank those people who helped, supported and contributed to this effort. So until we meet again--please remain engaged and keep the faith.
Early voting is over. Many people will make their decisions this weekend. So why should you vote for me? Consider this:
I spent 23 years on Capitol Hill, starting as a part time legislative assistant, rose through the ranks, and retired as a Chief Counsel for Oversight of a Congressional Committee. I know the legislative process. I know how to find waste in government. And I know how to make government responsive.

Happy Father's Day! If you are a father, this is your day to shine. If you have stepped in to be a father figure to a child--it is your day to shine.
As the child of a single mom, my grandfather stepped up to be a father figure to me. He taught me to ride a bike, catch a fish, and grow a garden. He also taught me the importance of public service. When he served as a town council member in Shepherdstown, WV, he made sure roads were paved in forgotten areas, public service jobs were open to all and every person he encountered was treated with dignity and respect. On this Father's Day, I remember Charles R. Branson.
Happy Father's Day!

Early Voting has begun! Every time I vote, I am reminded of all the people who sacrificed to make this right a reality. I have been to several early voting sites in the past few days. Turn out seems to be low. I am asking you to go vote. Vote for people who have a record of caring about the things that affect your life. I have spent over 25 years fighting for people in federal and local government. Please Vote!

Kevin Beverly
Honored to attend the launch of Business Leaders Fighting Hunger. This partnership of business, nonprofits and for profit companies will make a difference in Montgomery County. As one of the wealthiest places in the nation, no one should be hungry here. I'm honored to stand with Kevin Beverly, President of SAIC--a founding member of this partnership--a businessman, philanthropist and all around good guy!

Memorial Day is the day we remember and honor members of the Armed Forces who died in service to this country. As we remember the people who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country, let us also remember that they fought for the ideals of this country--democracy, equality, freedom and justice. If we truly honor the sacrifice, we must also honor and work toward the realization of these ideals.
Look forward to seeing everyone at Rockville's Hometown Holidays!
I hope you can join us on Sunday, May 20th at a Candidate Meet and Greet, 3-6 at Paint Branch High.

Happy Earth Day! One day a year is not enough to celebrate the beauty and wonder of our planet. We are stewards of this earth and we must work to take small steps every day to safeguard the environment. If you recycle, reuse and conserve, you are doing your part. And we must require big steps from our leaders. We can and must use public policy to protect the planet. Everything we need comes from Mother Earth. If we take care of her, she will take care of us. Peace.
