Last night y’all showed us how cemented our legacy has become in the DC music scene. Thank you for capturing every moment of the night. For quite some time we felt overlooked and ostracized by a large sector of our peers and honestly at times it led to the age old question of “why are we doing this?” Why continue to navigate a landscape where community has become more of a buzzword than a genuine connection. There are too many bands and artists who align themselves with other artists in the area just to leech off of their success and not for the authentic love of the artist and the art they make.

Fortunately over the course of the last year and a half we have been blessed to meet some genuine artists fighting for the same change that we are. Fighting to create a real sense of community within the area. And with that being said, to our newfound family in the DMV DIY hardcore and punk community, we cherish you and are honored to be apart of so many of y’all’s amazing stories as you continue to transcend on your musical journeys. We will see you at the top.

To our fans, our lovely fans, we are grateful to have your attention and support for the duration of the movement. And wouldn’t have made it this far without you. For those who joined the OV gang earlier in our journey (more than 1 yr ago) don’t think we forgot about you as we took our journey through the underground to find our tribe.

As we embark on the next chapter of our journey we pray that the divine give us the strength to endure the anxiety and hardship that comes with stepping away from the light in order to strengthen ourselves . And know without a shadow of a doubt that whenever the universe decides to reunite us, Oh Violet will be greater than the moment we left you.

To whom it may concern, this is not goodbye because greatness is never ending.
