Well today I had to say see ya later to Robert as he embarks on his next journey in life. He’s been an amazing student and a dedicated assistant, always there to lend a hand. He’s been assisting me since the beginning of High Gravity and has become a part of my glass family. Thank you so much for everything!! We will all miss you Robert and wish you all the best in Kentucky!

In 2018 right before I moved to Shreveport, I worked as a traveling glassblower and stayed at Bill and Sharon’s house for an event that took place in their hometown. Fast forward 5 years and they took a trip to come visit me and my studio. It was so much fun!! I love how glass has connected me to so many wonderful people all over the world! It’s truly a blessing to have them in my life. Thanks for visiting!!!

At High Gravity, although all of my assistants are beginners in glassblowing, they are already artists in their own right. Today I made it out to to show my support for my assistant Alexus Clark while she participated as one of the models on the runway. It was so much fun, congrats Alexus!!!

The real MVP over the last two weeks has been my mom for taking time out of her busy life to fly down and help out with the Revel. I’m talking 12 hour days of manning the booth and selling some glass through heat, rain, wind, and then a bit of beautiful weather.

I had the privilege of creating a work of art that the Brookshire’s Grocery Arena presented to the owners of Feld Entertainment in celebration of the opening night of the greatest show on Earth, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus. What an amazing experience!!

So I have been settling in over the last few days as Pilchuck Glass School’s hot shop coordinator. I’ve been enjoying sunsets, trees, stars and sweatshirt weather. What a fun way to end the summer with a birthday party, and yes on a 104 degree day!! I love my customers and my team! They all show up in this heat and still have a blast! This has been the busiest summer yet, and the hottest, and I’m just so thankful for each and every customer and team member for making my dreams come true. Y’all are the best!! We are officially closed until September 1! Time for a nap!
Kathryn told me stories of her sister as we encased a small portion of her sisters ashes in a sea turtle. She told me that on their last vacation together, a sea turtle had been nesting on the beach right below her sisters room and it was a magical experience to watch. I am so thankful that I am able to help keep the memory of her sister alive in this work of art. It was an honor.
