It’s lice season! I mean, that’s every season in the PNW. Elector PSP and these spoiled animals even got warm water for their bum bidet. This is my Ghostbusters style electric spray pack. Love it.

Meet Cuddles McCuddleson. He loves me. He picks up sticks for me and tidbits and coos and dances until I pick him up to cuddle and carry around. My rescue is named after this sweet behavior (Tidbitting).

Randy knows where the one low spot is in the fencing. He flees daily to be....well, Randy. Then he goes to work guarding the egg stand. Zoë makes sure to point him out, then I carry him around and close the stand and put him to bed. He's a very cute roo. He doesn't walk anywhere. He dances.

Sky! 🦅

This hen was witnessed being dropped out of the sky today by an 🦅! Someone who knows I’m a chicken lady stopped by the house to see if I could rescue her. It took time and my rooster Leonard on a harness to get her caught. I shall name her Sky.

Update on Michelle and Steve. They are actually Michelle and Stevie. Both hens. Not sure why they got dumped, but they are so far healthy and beautiful ladies. They are in with Houdini, last summer’s Elwah area roo rescue. He was getting bullied after I treated him for scaly leg mites again, so he’s keeping these new girls safe and accompanied during quarantine. Happiness all around.

Rooster rescue isn’t for the faint of heart. Sometimes the boys have fisticuffs. Sometimes they pick one boy to pick on. It’s hard when that happens. This poor babe is in the nurses office for a bit.

If you ever get lost on my property, just follow your ears. 🐓

There is nothing I love more than getting a good rooster adopted out to be the king of his own flock. Earl Grey got a chance to do just that on Tuesday. He is a good, snuggly, beautiful boy and I am so happy that he’s with his new human and hens.
