South Carolina Hospitals Aren’t Required to Disclose Measles-Related Admissions. That Leaves Doctors in the Dark. Physicians across South Carolina, home to the largest measles outbreak in decades, are advising patients without the benefit of real-time data on hospitalizations due to measles-related pneumonia, brain swelling and other serious complications.

Please be advised that measles vaccinations are available for infants between 6 months and 12 months old due to the recent measles outbreak.

Measles spreads to Anderson Co. elementary school, other schools possibly exposed Officials said a student was present at the school on Jan. 7 briefly before leaving due to feeling symptoms that were later confirmed to be measles.

School is out, but we are open on MLK day Monday, Jan 19th. If you need to schedule a physical or are sick, give us a call. As always, we offer same day appointments for all sick kids.

Blue Ridge Pediatrics is pleased to welcome Lauren Kerfoot, a nurse practitioner student, who will be learning with us for the next couple of months.

Lauren Kerfoot is a Doctoral Nurse Practitioner student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University. She began her nursing practice at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh before relocating to South Carolina, where she has practiced across multiple settings, including inpatient pediatrics, outpatient pediatrics, outpatient internal medicine, and elementary school nursing. She resides in Pendleton with her husband, Christopher, and their three children. Lauren is passionate about healthcare access and equity.
