Class of 75 Notes: Episode 01 📝

As we prepare for the 2027 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, we will celebrate 75 years of history at Sebring International Raceway,. Our Class of 75 honors the champions, pioneers and endurance racing legends whose performances helped define Sebring.

In this week’s recap, we’re taking a closer look at four members introduced as part of our September Class of 75 announcement and the remarkable accomplishments that earned each of them a place in Sebring history.

🔹 BOB AKIN
Akin made 10 Sebring starts between 1978 and 1987, earning two overall victories and a GTP class win. His victories came aboard the legendary Porsche 935 in 1979 and his Coca-Cola-sponsored Porsche 962 in 1986.

🔹 MARIO ANDRETTI
One of motorsport’s most iconic champions, Andretti won the 12 Hours of Sebring three times overall in only six starts. His 1970 victory aboard the Ferrari 512S remains part of what many consider the greatest Sebring race ever contested.

🔹 JOÃO BARBOSA
A modern-era Sebring specialist, Barbosa made 14 starts and captured the overall victory in 2015. He also played an important role in the historic 2012 race that brought together the American Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship grids.

🔹 GEOFF BRABHAM
In just four starts between 1989 and 1992, Brabham recorded two overall victories and two runner-up finishes—an incredible 100% overall podium record.

These funds will help AdventHealth enhance the care and resources available to patients right here in our community.
