The Dutton family has been working the land in Sonoma County since the 1880s. Today, we sustainably farm 1,300 acres of vineyards and apple orchards.
The Dutton family's farming heritage goes back to the 19th century. In 1881 Warren Dutton purchased the family's first 200 acres in Santa Rosa. Joined by his brother Reed, the Dutton’s planted their property to the best varieties of French prunes, a hot commodity at the time. For many years the family business prospered on prunes, with forays into pears and hops. Warren Dutton Jr., great-grandson

“The long legacy of farming in Sonoma County only continues if there are farmers. A lot of kids that grow up around agriculture opt out of following in their parents' footsteps. But not Gabe DeLoza Sanchez and Jesus (Chuy) Martinez Diaz, whose fathers both work at Dutton Ranch. Gabe, 18, and Chuy, 15, are all in,” writes Virginie Boone.
In this week’s installment of “The Good Stuff,” Virginie Boone highlights these students’ passion for ag and their recent success in the Youth Pruning and Viticulture Challenge. To read on, click the link below. Dutton Ranch Corp
