2025 Reflection Post:
——————-
2025 was quite a year. I was coming out of a sudden loss (one I am still learning how to heal from), while balancing the demands of work and running a multi-dimensional technology company. Life did not slow down to let me process. I was left with no choice but to cope, adapt, and continue fulfilling my obligations.
Turning 50 was a milestone. It was the moment everything paused and clarity began to settle in. I realized I was not listening to myself, and the world around me had not been listening either. One of my business partners once told me, “If you cut out the noise, you will begin to hear yourself and focus on what matters more.” He was right.
I have learned that it’s not just about tuning out the noise, but also requires the willingness to be honest and kind with yourself. Society will always have opinions and expectations, but real growth begins when you choose to honor your own voice. Listening to yourself is not selfish. It is necessary. So give yourself plenty of grace.
As we move into 2026, I see it as a year of growth and transformation. A new opportunity to slow down, reflect, and build with greater intention. My message to you is to take the time to check in with yourself, protect your energy, move in ways that feel authentic to who you are, and who you are becoming.
To everyone who has followed my journey, supported my work, or shown love during moments both visible and unseen, THANK YOU!!!. Your support, love, encouragement, and loyalty mean more than words can express.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Prosperous New Year ahead and abundant blessings!
Cheers! 🥂

As steps into a well-earned retirement, I’m immensely proud of a career that has profoundly shaped Seattle and a legacy of leadership that continues to inspire the next generation of leaders. An engineer by training and a visionary public servant, Adiam brought rigor, heart, and integrity to her leadership as Seattle’s Deputy Mayor and as Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation.
Brilliant, principled, and fearless, she is a true force...
Seattle roads, bridges, traffic systems, parks, and pathways to opportunity all reflect her steady, forward-thinking leadership always centering equity, safety, and long-term impact.
Beyond her professional legacy, I am grateful to call her my Sister and dear friend whose wisdom, generosity, and humor continue to enrich my life. Thank you, Adiam, for your leadership, your impeccable legacy of service to the City of Seattle and friendship. I’m excited to witness your next chapter…🥂🎉🎊

11/27 — a day I will live to never forget.
Your light was dimmed for so many of us who loved you. Your family, your friends, your community, and the countless people across Tanzania who saw in you something rare, something hopeful, something deeply human. Even now, it’s hard to believe that the world lost a voice as thoughtful, compassionate, and steady as yours at a time when such qualities feel more needed than ever.
I visited your Instagram page recently, and I was overwhelmed by emotion. People are still commenting, still praying, still telling you how much they miss your presence, your words, your guidance. It’s as if your page has become a living memorial, like a gathering place for those who continue to carry your memory forward. Seeing that reminded me that your legacy didn’t leave with you. It continues to breathe through the lives you touched.
This Thanksgiving, I found myself giving thanks for you. I’m giving thanks for your life, your heart, your courage, the way you showed up for others, and the way you always believed in what people could become. I’m grateful that I had the honor of calling you my brother, my family, and my mentor.
Brother Fau, your absence is felt every single day, but so is your love. And on this day, I hold both close - the grief of losing you and the gratitude of having had you at all.
We miss you bro. We honor you. We carry you with us each and everyday of our lives… Continue to rest in eternal peace. Amen.

I’m proud to support Bruce Harrell for Mayor of Seattle. I’ve seen his love for this city and his leadership through some of our toughest times. Under his One Seattle vision, we’ve watched neighborhoods come back to life, small businesses recover, and hope return after the pandemic. Let’s keep the momentum going to build a stronger and a more united Seattle together. Seattle friends, please vote Bruce Harrell for Seattle Mayor!

I am deeply saddened to witness what’s happening in my beloved Tanzania. The images, the voices, and the cries from the streets have stirred something profound within me. Many of you who know me understand that I have always been vocal about issues of injustice whether publicly or privately and Tanzania is no exception. I believe this is not the time to remain silent. Silence, in moments of moral crisis, is a form of complicity.
True leadership is not tested in times of comfort, but in moments of challenge, when standing with the people may mean standing against the powerful. Being a leader requires courage. The courage to listen, to speak truth, and to act with integrity, even when the cost is high. It means aligning with the voice of the people, even when that voice shakes the foundations of convenience or privilege.
Tanzania is a nation built on unity, dignity, and hope. Those values cannot thrive when injustice goes unchecked or when fear silences dissent. Leadership is needed now more than ever. Leadership that looks beyond politics and power, and remembers the sacred duty to serve, protect, and uplift every citizen.
Turning a blind eye to injustice is not neutrality; it is a choice to side with oppression. May we all find the strength to speak, to act, and to demand better. Not out of anger, but out of love for our country and faith in its promise…
Mungu Ibariki Tanzania 🇹🇿
