Most of all, he was my best friend
And he’s gone too soon

Karl passed yesterday afternoon at home surrounded by his family and so much love. For the past 11 years Karl has been my best friend, and I will miss him more than words can describe. The first time I met Karl he was sleeping while the rest of his siblings were playing or getting into trouble. He was so calm on my lap staring at me with his beautiful eyes, it was love at first sight. The first time I tried to leave him and go to class he cried until I gave in and stayed home with him for the day. I don’t think there was a person who met Karl that didn’t fall in love with him. When friends came over to our house Karl would demand love and affection and if they stopped before Karl had decided they were done he would definitely let them know. He really was just the sweetest, and so smart. I’ll never stop wishing I had more time with him, but the years I got to have with him mean everything. It’s been the greatest privilege to be able to get to take care of him, and I will miss him forever.
