Never heard this guy before yesterday but he made a new fan with this rant. I had to give it a little juj though because the term liberal doesn’t exactly stand for what a lot of folks think it does. Discourse in the United States is so deliberately moved towards the right that the terminology has been eroded and liberalism which has always been a part of right wing authoritarianism is now used as a catch all term for leftism. this was powerful, thanks saying the s**t that needs said to the folks who most need to hear it!

I don’t wanna hear about how you’re sorry this is happening, that’s the equivalent of thoughts and prayers I don’t have time for it unless you are out standing up to these types of people. I know FB is a dumpster fire but the level of unmitigated bigotry and threats is truly shocking and I can’t push back against them all by myself. Even if you don’t want to get dragged into the mud online, are you standing up for us in your private lives? Are you contributing to helping trans folks and immigrants survive and navigate the ways that we are being targeted out in the world right now? Sharing our art, uplifting our voices, congratulating us on our victories? Showing up to stop folks from being deported? Have you even checked in on your q***r, trans, femme, immigrant or BIPOC friends lately? If not, don’t you think it’s about time you did? ***rpunk ***rcountrymusic
