These 2026 seniors are a special group. I've had some really awesome senior sessions this late summer and fall so far. This is Cooper, and the first time I took his pictures, he was just six months old! It is such an honor to get to take pictures of young men and women whose faces I first viewed through my lens when they were babies. Grown-up Cooper was such a cool guy to hang with ... and his family too! His smiles were genuine. If he's laughing in a photo, it was probably because his dad did something to crack him up. We did pictures on a sunny day around Buckley and then went to his high school as the sun was setting (see those photos in another post coming soon). Thanks for an awesome session, Cooper! And GO COUGS. :)

I've had the sweetest seniors to photograph this fall and I couldn't be luckier. I also will always love the gift of as a place to explore, gaze at beautiful florals, and appreciate nature. Class of 2026 seniors, I'm still ready for you! Senior photos can be taken all year long, any month or season that best fits YOU. :)

Sometimes I forget how much I love shooting in the summertime. Even when it might be a little hotter than is comfy, nothing beats that golden glow and the carefree smiles. I photographed this family for several years when the kids were younger and it was such a sweet blessing to see them grown up so much at this session! I'm so thankful for AKP families who come back and spend time with me!

One of my favorite things about senior sessions is letting the graduate pull in the things that are near and dear to them. It's the best when we can creatively include their interests and passions in their photos. Graduation is such a poignant but fleeting moment -- every senior is special and unique. That deserves to be reflected in their senior photos. It was truly an honor to get to photograph Gabe after watching him invest in his passion for the military and flying for many years. He's steadily moved up the ranks in Civil Air Patrol and has such a cool future ahead of him. We did lots of other photos outside of these with planes and helicopters and I'll share some of those later ... but for now, here are some faves. I'm grateful Gabe and his family trusted me with taking these photos commemorating such a milestone moment in his life.

When you find walls that match your client's eyes, you definitely pause and make some pictures there. Also, so many photos to share from the last few months. It's time to catch up on my social media game. The AKP cameras are working hard and the heart of this photographer is super thankful for clients who make art with her!

Before we get too far away from fall and the holiday season, I have to share our beautiful tree farm family sessions from 2024! Here's just one of them for now. These are some of my favorite days every year for AKP. Thank you to all the families who have joined us for more than a decade of holiday mini sessions and the new ones we get to meet each year!

Late fall sessions on wet, rainy days can actually end up being super beautiful, especially when your clients are willing to laugh and have fun together at their session, trusting you to just get the shots. 🥰
