What a special weekend. First Baker Family Reunion in 35 years! A little has changed. But man, am I grateful for my family. Nothing, I mean nothing is more important. 💙💙💙

Continuing a look back at 20 of the tracks I’m most proud of producing and contributing too! literally took the world by storm with her amazing audition (now over 15 million views worldwide!!) and run into the Semi-Finals in Season 17! Among those people who were incredibly moved by Amanda’s music and story, were myself and my parents. I decided to reach out to her and her family, and that was the beginning of an amazing relationship that I’m thankful for every day. ‘Broken is Beautiful’ was written by Amanda and was just her and a piano. It’s such a wonderful lyric and a beautiful melody. While we were recording her album at in Connecticut, we had the idea to level up the song by including the incomparable on guitar, and myself on piano. We took Amanda’s harmony and chords, and gave it a more driving, rhythmic feel with new dynamics. What happened was a special moment for all of us, and personally for me, showed what’s possible when a songwriter will let go of their music and allow others to make their contributions. Amanda trusted me, Richie, Andrew and others and the result is one of the most compelling tracks I’ve worked on and definitely the best piano work I’m capable of! Ha!
