Epiphany School

The pre-k students had an extra special outing this week - their first ever trip to Marilyn’s Garden! They learned to@harvest vegetables and flowers and brought their bounty back to school to make a delicious stone soup for all to enjoy. Huge thanks to Marilyn for always being so warm and welcoming to students from Epiphany School!

Practice makes progress! 11 of our fifth grade students are making sure they’re admissions test-ready with our partners from Sandweiss Test Prep. Our 10-week test prep program is an optional offering that families can opt into as part of our comprehensive middle school placement program. Kudos to these study buddies for putting in the work!

Thanks to everyone in the community who came out for Curriculum Night last night! It was wonderful having everyone on campus and we wanted to share a special shout-out to all the faculty and staff who stayed late to take part in this important opportunity for families to connect with their students’ teachers and learn about the year ahead. Here’s to a great 2026-27 school year!

For Epiphany’s Outdoor Education classes, specialist teacher Ms. Kacy creates a thoughtful curriculum for each grade that builds upon what they learned the previous year. Having gotten a playful introduction to the future topics of study in pre-k, the kinders will spend this year learning about weather, climate, and the ecosystems that populate our planet. They recently put on their garbologist hats and visited all the school’s classrooms to label all of the trash, recycling, and compost bins - it was wonderful to see the pride they took in making a difference at their school and in putting what they’d learned to practical use!

Ga-ga-GAME ON! Excitement levels were high as the gaga ball set made its first appearance of the year on Commons today! The kindergartners were enthralled watching the olders play so they’d know the ropes when the time comes for their kinder-only game later this week.

Delicious food, lively conversation, and lots of healthy shenanigans are a given at our annual Back To School BBQ — but the undisputed star of the show this year was our new music & performance teacher Mr. Kahn and his magic guitar! Thanks to everyone in the community who came out and to the Epiphany Parent Council for making it one for the books.

Apples were dipped, the shofar was blown, and memories were written down (on biodegradable paper!) and released into the duck pond near campus. Huge thanks to the parent volunteers who came to school to teach the students about Rosh Hashanah and made it a celebration to remember!

To kick off the new school year, the second graders each brought in five items or representations of things they loved, and then did a silent walk around their classrooms to experience each other’s Me Museums before reflecting as a group. It was a wonderful way to express themselves, build community, and consider the commonalities (and differences!) that make us all unique.

It’s almost time for our annual Back to School BBQ! The bbq is a great time for the whole community (not just Epiohany families) to come together and connect over great food, friendly conversation, and fun games. We had some very important guests on campus today - the pre-k students’ favorite stuffies! Our littlest learners are getting to know the Epiphany campus, and what better way than to take their stuffies on a tour? The photos taken along their route will also be used to create a custom Epiphany pre-k version of Mo Willems’ beloved children book, Knuffle Bunny. 🧸📚💫
