If you’ve visited our studio recently, you may have noticed we’ve grown! Please welcome Michael, our new full time jewelry repair specialist.
Michael is a lifelong artist and 3rd generation jeweler from Rhode Island. He brings over twenty years of design and bench experience in both costume and fine jewelry. He and Nina met in 2017 when he relocated to Seattle and joined her jewelry studio co-op, instantly forging a collaborative working relationship that has only strengthened over time. He is especially talented at designing custom pieces, and hand-carving wax models for casting.

Most jewelers hate this repair… and honestly, we get why. 😅
Not all gold chains are created equal. Solid gold chains are built to last, while gold-filled and hollow chains are much more prone to wear, tarnish, and breakage.
Hollow chains are especially tricky—they’re made from an ultra-thin layer of gold wrapped around empty space, making them surprisingly fragile. Many jewelers won’t repair them because there’s a good chance they’ll break again.
The good news? We can repair them with our laser welder. The honest news? We’ll probably spend a few minutes explaining why they’re so delicate and helping you decide whether repairing or replacing is the better long-term option.

One of our favorite kinds of projects: giving new life to jewelry that already holds meaning. ✨
For this custom ring, we incorporated our client’s own gold, sapphires, diamonds, and rubies into a completely new design. Each gemstone was star set by hand, creating a constellation-like sparkle across the surface, while the Cancer constellation was engraved into one side as a personal touch.
A piece that carries both memories and a story uniquely its own. 💙❤️💎
Think your ring needs a resize? Maybe not.
Finger size can change throughout the day and throughout the year due to temperature, hydration, swelling, and more. If your ring feels tight one day and loose the next, a traditional resize might not be the best solution.
Options like sizing beads, sizing bars, and temporary adjusters can often improve the fit without permanently altering your ring.

Your jewelry might actually look worse after at-home polishing 👀
Ultrasonic cleaners can damage delicate stones and strip gold plating, while over-polishing can wear away finishes and fine details over time.
For most pieces, warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush are the safest option ✨
