Thank you again to the team at for hosting the Innovation Outpost last night, powered by and . A lot of people hear innovation and think Silicon Valley, or Waterloo, or Toronto, but the truth is that innovation is about growing where you’re planted, and our agri tourism sector is employing tech and innovation in surprising and cutting edge ways to serve their customers better every single day. It was inspiring to see the ways entrepreneurs are innovative solutions to their agri challenges right here in our backyard.

To the person who introduced me to Disney, who taught me that life is best lived with as many dogs as possible, and who showed me the million ways that love transcends grief, as long as we let it. My Aunt Lynn (Trumble) Saatchi was not my aunt by blood, she was my moms first and oldest childhood friend, and a constant throughout my life. I will always be grateful for the things she taught me, for the humour she brought into my life, and for those giant and incredible hugs. As it often happens, I wish I had more time to tell her these things. We never get enough time to tell people the things we really should. Diabetes is a horrible disease, and while mine is managed and in remission, this also serves as another big “why” along my journey in keeping it that way. Eventually it takes everything. She’s now with those she’s been missing for so long, and I know it’s a reunion that will bring her immense peace.
