We know it's been a taxing time, but we wanted to check in and let you know - YOUR ADVOCACY IS WORKING! You showed up on Advocacy Day, met with legislators, responded to action alerts, and made your voices heard. Lawmakers are recognizing the critical role crime victim services play in our communities because of your efforts. Lawmakers have until April 27 to negotiate a final budget before the 2025 legislative session adjourns. Please take the time to read about why this is so important and let your legislators know this funding is necessary…domestic violence could happen to your child or children. We must support the victims and the numerous jobs that help people in DV situations.
Today more than 150 advocates from every county of Washington State have arrived to meet with Legislators about the future of basic protections for Washingtonians facing abuse and violence at home. Emergency shelters, legal advocacy, protection orders, and forensic interviews for child victims of crimes. We remain hopeful that legislators will step up to stabilize this critical safety net, ensuring survivors of violence and trauma receive the support they need to heal and rebuild their lives. You can help by contacting your representatives and sharing our posts.
