Update! The midwifery bill, SSB5765, is now in the House of Representatives and has a Health Care and Wellness Committee hearing scheduled Monday 02/21 at 1:30pm. As a reminder, this bill is super important and will allow Licensed Midwives to prescribe medications for common perinatal infections as well as contraception. So necessary!
This is VERY quick - We need you to sign (even if you already signed a few weeks ago) in favor, "pro," the bill. We are nearly halfway to our goal of 1000 signatures! Please share this far and wide. Out-of-state folks can sign as well.

This work is so important during these vulnerable times. People are not meant to parent alone, but in community. By giving families the gift of a doula, your support can literally save lives. A doula can provide families with support and information and options throughout their pregnancy, birth, lactation, postpartum and parenting journey. When new parents are taken care of, they have more to give to their own families and our communities begin to heal and thrive. Donate today! And join us for the Labor of Love party on Feb 11th!

"If the trends in the data are confirmed, the pandemic and lockdowns could be something like a natural experiment that might help researchers understand why premature birth happens and how to avoid it. Maybe some maternity leave should start before a mother’s due date, for example."
