“With kavod and appreciation to the adult b'mitzvah cohort – our own torah scouts, may we all ride the wave of their work and culmination of their. May we all admit where we have begun seeing ourselves as grasshoppers. May we all tie a figurative thread around our fingers, our garments, our hearts, our lives, as the tzitzit are tied to our garments. May we remember our power, our obligations, our community, our role in the evolution, healing, and thriving of our torah."

“This is one of the gifts that q***r life and q***r Torah have offered the Jewish world: a reminder that holiness is not found in shrinking ourselves to fit inherited expectations, but in bringing more of ourselves into relationship—with one another, with tradition, and with the divine."

Join us for a truly remarkable morning as we honor 16 dedicated students who have spent the past year immersed in deep group, personal, and chevruta study.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, these individuals will ascend to the Torah for Parashat Shlach L’cha. This ceremony is a testament to lifelong learning and spiritual growth; our B’mitzvah will lead us in prayer, read from the sacred scroll, and share their unique insights through words of Torah.
The service will be followed by a festive, supplemented bagel lunch and potluck. We invite you to bring a side, salad, drink, or dessert to share if you are able—but most importantly, bring yourself and your dear ones for an afternoon of song and dance.
Whether you know one of the B’mitzvah or not, we would love for you to be part of this remarkable milestone! 🎉

“We do not often speak of oaths in 2026. The language can sound ancient or overly formal. I mostly associate it now with taking public office: a ritual acknowledgment that power and responsibility should be tethered to accountability and shared principles.
But perhaps it would be useful to recover the language of oaths more broadly. To speak more openly about the covenant we have that holds community together:
the obligations of friendship,
the promises embedded in family,
the responsibilities of leadership,
the covenant between neighbors,
the duties we owe to vulnerable people,
the commitments we make simply by showing up for one another again and again.”
