The myth: the controller setpoint is the specimen temperature.

The fact: the setpoint only shows what the system was instructed to reach. The specimen’s actual temperature still has to be monitored and verified.

If the thermal condition is wrong, the mechanical data can be consistent and still tell the wrong story.

A final result is only one part of a mechanical test report.

The full report should explain what was tested, how the test was performed, the conditions behind the result, and any observations that could affect its meaning.
