Celebrate Juneteenth weekend at Baobab Lounge with featured cocktail specials:

In honor of Juneteenth, a portion of proceeds from each featured cocktail will be donated to the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, helping preserve and share Savannah’s rich African American history.

This skeleton is 100% real.

Meet the Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus), a giant that once roamed Eurasia over 100,000 years ago. Standing upright, it could reach more than 11.5 feet tall, towering over most modern bears.

This particular bear shows signs of severe hip deterioration in its right femur, meaning it likely lived with chronic pain and walked with a limp.

Despite surviving the wild, Cave Bears disappeared around 20,000 years ago. Evidence from multiple sites suggests they were actively hunted by humans, contributing to their extinction.
