Hi everyone we are back with another update from the John Lee Memorial Community garden! 🌻 Wishing you a great start to the summer and a happy Juneteenth, aka Freedom Day. As we celebrate community gardening as one way of creating food access and healing through the soil. We’ve seen a lot of growth since spring and the garden is now in full bloom. Scenes from one of our first harvest baskets of the season are pictured here featuring: squash, tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, and green peppers. The next photos show some new containers, an upcycled tire, and a wire garden trellis we’ve added. Can’t wait to share more about this year’s garden additions like the expanded herbal garden, youth and adult gardening skills building workshops, and more, stay tuned! 🌱 #Herewegrow #Juneteenth #FreedomDay
